Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
