19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
Success also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He saved four early chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
